Spiral

When you feel so out of control, that your life is not something of your design... you start anticipating the landing because at least then you can get your bearings and decide which direction to head towards. When you hit bottom, there really is only one way to go, and that is up. One must also consider that it isn't the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop at the end.

I suppose I know what advice I will get from each go-to person I have for advice. Ranging from hit your knees to hit the bottle. I'm becoming more and more inclined to be flat on my face and not from some fermented beverage.

Some days I feel like a baby so unsure of where I should be or what I should do, relying on so many others to show me how to live.

I've been talking the talk, I guess it is time to walk the walk.

A profound post, to be sure, I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I'll offer my commentary in the form of a dissection.

"When you feel so out of control, that your life is not something of your design..."
Well, indeed, things do feel a bit out of control when you are relying on the brokeness of humanity (and its various coping mechanisms) to provide a certain level of control, comfort, calm, whatever.

"...you start anticipating the landing because at least then you can get your bearings and decide which direction to head towards."
I am unsure how you anticipate the landing, get your bearings and figure out where you're going unless you've discovered some new means to not feel out of control; otherwise, you'll never really land as you will still feel out of control without a reasonable controlling force with which to "attach" one's self to.

..."there really is only one way to go, and that is up..."
Unless going up is part of the continual cycle of going up and down; doing the same thing you've been doing and expecting different results ("going up") is called crazy.

"I suppose I know what advice I will get from each go-to person I have for advice. Ranging from hit your knees to hit the bottle."
Understably so, advice overload is overwhelming, and everyone likes to give it. The question is, what is the right answer? Yes, there is only one right answer.

"relying on so many others to show me how to live.

I've been talking the talk, I guess it is time to walk the walk."
Not sure what you mean by this, but hopefully you are pointed in the right direction.
