I wonder...
We were swapping childhood war stories yesterday as we demo'ed the basement. Who hurt who with what and the comparing of the resulting scars. From that the statement was made that when it comes to being an EMT, you either have it, or you don't. Any thoughts on this? I am still comtemplating it myself...

Inregards of being an EMT-yes I agree you either have it or you dont. I think that goes along w/a lot of medical and public service jobs ie emt/paramedic, firemen, doctors etc.
Some can cut it others can not.
I agree that you either have it or you don't. But there is no shame in not having it because this crazy stuff isn't for everyone.
i would say yes....but i think in some people it takes a little while for them to realize they have it in them. like, they know they WANT to do it, but they feel like they can't. and they slowly get there over time, you know?
I'm still contemplating whether or not I have it.
Michael the only reason I published your comment was so you can recieve the public shaming you deserve for even thinking you don't have it when it is painfully obvious that you do.
In fact you set the bar pretty darn high for the rest of us. So buck up my friend and stop the self doubt. :)
Thanks, Bernice, but some days I honestly wonder. Most days I'm my usual obnoxious, smug self but every now and then one of those days comes along where nothing goes right.
We all have those days Michael. And if someone tells you they don't they are a lying liarson.
I agree with Bernice, we definitely all have those days when we think "holy crap what am I doing here?"
The smug days are definitely more fun, though!
