My first call as a Lieutenant in Providence was for a schoolbus that crashed into a stalled flatbed truck on the highway. The bus hit the rear corner of the flabed trailer at about fifty MPH, smashing through the windshield and ripping half of the roof off.
Luckily, the bus was on the way back to base when the accident happened. Not so lucky was the infant who was seated in the first seat, and her mother, the school bus monitor. The baby was killed instantly, CPR was underway when I arrived. The mom survived, barely. The driver had minor injuries.
Having worked in the ED, I have seen several children circling. (we had a mini children's ed in our main ed.)But my most recent experience actually came from my photography experiences. I am a member of NILMDTS and I recently had my first session this past week. It was heartbreaking to say the least.

Pedi trauma code. Great start.
It is just so frustrating. All we could do was give him blow by O2 and watch him circle the damn drain.
