Okay, so what if that isn't a word... I am still in great need of some assistance.
First, I need a link to prove that it is proper form to start CPR once a choking person goes unresponsive. I have a love/hate relationship with our facilities guy here and because I don't have the proper male anatomy, I am dumb. This is the same man who will not recognize my CPR certification for the company-wide list because I didn't take the course through the class my company offers. Granted, I could teach the class, but you know... that just doesn't matter. Oiy. I have searched high and low and the man just doesn't believe me and refuses to take down the poster in our lunch room that still advertises abdominal thrusts via straddling the patient. Any links provided earn you 200 cool points.
Secondly, Peppridge Farms is trying to kill me. While in Florida over Thanksgiving, JB and I had an attack of I NEED JUNK FOOD NOW so we ran to Publix where I found come cookies that would make angels cry. I am not even kidding you, they were amazingly delicious. So delicious that I ate the entire bag of cookies in a matter of hours. Perhaps you don't understand, but I don't do that. I will have a couple cookies or a little treat and then I'm good. But noooo... they had to go and lace those things with crack! Of course I needed more, so off we went to the Publix on the other side of town and they didn't have them! I have searched their website trying to find the cookies and they are no where to be found. I'm sure they are part of their limited holiday collection because they were in the red-tinted bag. They had raspberry filling, a spiced, shortbread-esque cookie part and had powdered sugar on them. I swear I am starting to think I made them up. Please tell me I didn't!

From the JRCALC guidelines that guide the practice of UK paramedics, ambulance technicians and other prehospital staff.
I can also cite the 9th edition Voluntary Aid Services First Aid Manual, and the IHCD Ambulance Technician Basic Training Manual.
If you email me, I can send you scans of both
I am just a lurker who volunteers for my local EMS agency. To procrastinate from the paper I have to write, I thought I would find a link for you :)

"If the person loses consciousness gently lay him or her flat on their back on the floor. To clear the airway, kneel next to the person and put the heel of your hand against the middle of the abdomen, just below the ribs. Place your other hand on top and press inward and upward five times with both hands. If the airway clears and the person is still unresponsive, begin CPR."
"The American Red Cross recommends the following for the unconscious choking adult:
Try 2 rescue breaths. (If available, use protective barrier airway, resuscitation mask or face shield. The American Red Cross recommends that rescue breaths should not be delayed because you do not have a barrier or do not know how to use one).
To give a rescue breath:
Tilt the head and lift the chin, then pinch the nose shut.
Take a breath and make a complete seal over the person's mouth.
Blow in to make the chest clearly rise.
(TIP: Each rescue breath should last about 1 second.)
If breaths do not go in, tilt the head farther back. Try 2 rescue breaths again.
If the chest does not rise - give 30 chest compressions. (TIP: Remove breathing barrier when giving chest compressions.)"

Dont know if this is what you need? Good luck, if I ever collapse, hope you are around to help, not the office know-it-all!!
Here is the link you're looking for (I think). http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/first-aid-choking/FA00025 The statement you're wanting to rub in his face is about halfway down the page :) "If the person becomes unconscious, perform standard CPR with chest compressions." Even in Canada we do things the proper way :P
OK so this is UK guidelines but the last two paragraphs here say to go to CPR if the casualty goes unconscious:
http://www.ertuk.co.uk/choking_life_support.asp
But in general, if a casualty is unconscious you should just follow the normal rules (DRABC) for an unconscious casualty, doesn't matter that there's a specific cause, treatment is the same - CPR if required.
If they have been choking to the point of unconsciousness then they are not breathing and so CPR applies:
http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/first-aid-advice/life-saving-procedures/cpr.aspx
Chest compressions will also perform the same function as abdominal thrusts as I'm sure you know!
Wikipedia steps through all the different things to try including CPR if the casualty becomes unconscious:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choking
And finally this page has American Red Cross details of what to do to a choking casualty including going onto CPR:
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/choking/page6_em.htm#Choking%20Treatment
Hope the barrage of info helps your case!
Wow! Thank you everyone! I'm not sure how he can tell me he is still looking into it with this much information.
Now to find those darn cookies!
Are you sure they weren't Knott's Berry Farm cookies???
I just found some Pepperidge Farm Linzer cookies.....could that be them? Round, white with what looks like powdered sugar, raspberry filling - and cut outs on the top. I also some raspberry Milano.
