Hi there. How are you? I wanted to drop you a little note before we officially meet. Like most new relationships, the first few months can be filled with anxiety, hope and those wonderful little squiggies one gets in their belly when you are expecting something amazing. So in hopes that the transition will be both smooth and enjoyable for both of us I want to lay a couple cards on the table from the get go.
See, 2008 was a bitch. Much like her predecessor, she mind-fucked me pretty good and frankly, just wasn't so nice. Needless to say, I could really use a break and I think you are just the year to do it. You have a lot of potential 2009, and I would love to see you live up to every last bit of it. There are a few things I have been waiting for my entire life and previous years, who shall remain nameless, have shut me down without even batting an eye.
So here is a simple list of requests. If you could follow them as closely as you can, I would greatly appreciate it.
1. Don't mess with my family's health. I can't handle any more of them heading off to the hospital, especially more than one at a time.
2. If any hard feelings are developed, please leave my uterus out of it. It's just doing the best it can.
3. 2008 was the resident drama llama, so that title is already taken. No need to rinse and repeat.
4. Contrary to popular belief, I am a big-hearted mush ball. I am going to do my best to yell less and love more so if you could return the favor, I think we can be great pals.
5. If you see 2007 or 2008, can you do me a huge favor and kick them in the yam sack for me? I would greatly appreciate it.
So there you have it, 2009. I think that if we work together we can really do some awesome things. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Bernice
P.S. If you see Motivation, send her on over. There is a pep-talk a brewin' and I think she is just the one to receive it.

That was cool, I hope 2009 listens and delivers. Hmm., delivers, strange choice of words, wonder where that came from.
Your subconscious. :)
Happy New Year.
